Residents of Saatla again protest against water shortage

Residents of the village of Cholpu in the Saatli region held a protest rally on March 27, complaining about the lack of irrigation water. They blocked the region intersection “Four Roads” and demanded to solve the long-standing problem of water scarcity. It is to remind that on March 13, residents of the region had already held a protest rally, but it was dispersed by the police. At the same time, the local authorities did not fulfill their promises that the problem would be solved. The participants of the action stated that they were forced to buy water for irrigation of crops. “Water is supplied to neighboring villages, and our water is given to officials,” said one of the protesters. They complained that government agencies are not interested in their problems. The action took place without police intervention.
