The influential Romanian news portal News24hours reported with reference to AZERTAC that President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev was awarded the Supreme Order of the Turkic World .

The Supreme Order was presented to the head of state by President of the Republic of Turkey Recep Tayyip Erdogan at the VIII Summit of the Cooperation Council of Turkic Speaking States in Istanbul on November 12.

It was noted that the resolution adopted by the Council of Heads of State of Turkic-speaking countries reads: For the historic victory that led to lasting peace and stability, the Council of Heads of State decided to award His Excellency Ilham Aliyev with the “Supreme Order of the Turkic World” with great honor at the suggestion of His Excellency President Recep Tayyip Erdogan.
