Baku: An official reception marking Romania’s National Day was held in Baku. The event organized by the Romanian Embassy in Azerbaijan began with the performance of the national anthems of both countries.
According to Azerbaijan State News Agency, Romanian Ambassador to Azerbaijan Vasile Soare addressed the gathering, highlighting the country’s history and the importance of the National Day. He noted that the declaration of the Great Union by the Romanians of Bessarabia, Bukovina, and Transylvania in Alba Iulia in 1918 played a significant role in the formation of Romanian statehood.
The ambassador also spoke about the friendly relations between Azerbaijan and Romania, emphasizing that these ties had elevated to the level of strategic partnership. Cooperation in areas such as politics, economics, energy, transport, and humanitarian fields was developing dynamically. He hailed the Green Energy Corridor project, transport routes across the Black Sea, and the growth of bilateral trade relations as indicators of a strong dialogue between the two countries.
Deputy Speaker of Azerbaijan’s Milli Majlis Musa Gasimli conveyed President Ilham Aliyev’s sincere congratulations to the state and people of Romania on the occasion of the National Day.
