Rovshan Najaf appointed SOCAR president

Today, President Ilham Aliyev today signed a decree on the appointment of Rovshan Chingiz oglu Najaf as president of the State Oil Company of Azerbaijan ( SOCAR.)

By another order, Najaf was relieved of the post of first vice president of SOCAR, to which he was appointed in February this year.

Rovshan Najaf, 40-years-old, has been rapidly climbing the corporate ladder in the past four years.

In August 2019, he was appointed Chairman of the Board of the Azerbaijan Financial Monitoring Service.

In February 2020, he became Deputy Minister of Economy, and in December 2021, First Deputy Minister of Economy. In February 2022, Najaf was transferred to SOCAR to the position of First Vice President and was immediately appointed acting head of the company.
