Russia, Azerbaijan, Iran and Kazakhstan to hold joint exercises in the Caspian Sea

The crews of warships of the Caspian Flotilla of Russia, the navies of Iran, Azerbaijan and Kazakhstan will hold joint naval exercises in Iran after the completion of the Sea Cup competition. This is stated in the report of the Russian Defense Ministry with reference to the deputy commander of the Caspian Flotilla of the Russian Federation, rear admiral Sergei Ekimov.

Note that straight after the completion of the “Sea Cup”, joint exercises will be held where warships of the navies of Russia, Iran, Kazakhstan and Azerbaijan will take part. Also, joint actions in the Caspian Sea will be worked out within a few days, Sergei Ekimov said in the Iranian port of Enzeli.

It should be added that small missile and artillery ships of the navies of Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan, Iran and Russia are taking part in the ArMI-2021 Sea Cup competition which is held in Iran for the first time (previously they were held in Azerbaijan)
