Moscow: Russia is considering the possibility of dialogue with Yerevan regarding the parameters of its participation in the TRIPP project, stated Mikhail Galuzin, Deputy Foreign Minister of Russia, in an interview with Izvestia, APA reports. The TRIPP project, which involves Armenia and the United States, has prompted Russia to assess its role and involvement in the initiative.
According to Azeri-Press News Agency, Galuzin elaborated that while Russia maintains a consistent stance on this initiative, the specifics of the Armenia-U.S. project require thorough examination. He highlighted that Russian railways are operational in the region and that Russian border guards are positioned on the Iran-Armenia border, which are significant factors in Russia's decision-making process.
Galuzin emphasized the importance of Armenia's membership in the Eurasian Economic Union, noting that this adds another layer of complexity that partners cannot overlook. He asserted that it is evident that the matter cannot be resolved without Russia's involvement.
Furthermore, Galuzin expressed Russia's readiness for consultations with partners in Yerevan, indicating plans to discuss specific forms of Moscow's participation in implementing the transport corridor.
