Moscow: Russian EMERCOM representative Dmitry Nikolaevich Melnik expressed gratitude to Azerbaijan for its cooperation in facilitating the delivery of humanitarian aid to Iran. The statement came as Russia completed the second phase of its urgent aid mission.

According to Azerbaijan State News Agency, Melnik, Director of the International Activity Department of the Russian Ministry of Emergency Situations (EMERCOM), informed journalists that the operation followed instructions from the President of the Russian Federation and an order from the Minister of Emergency Situations. The latest delivery comprised 300 tons of medical supplies, marking a significant effort in providing relief to the Iranian people.

Melnik highlighted that the first phase of the delivery utilized aircraft to transport the supplies to Lankaran International Airport, from where they were conveyed to Iran. The entire operation spanned approximately four days, underscoring the logistical collaboration between Russian and Azerbaijani agencies.

Acknowledging the cooperative efforts, Melnik extended his gratitude to the personnel involved in the mission. He specifically appreciated the contributions of both Russian ministries and Azerbaijani colleagues, emphasizing their role in expediting the delivery of essential humanitarian aid.
