Russian Grain Shipment to Armenia Through Azerbaijan Becomes Regular

Baku: The shipment of Russian grain via the Russian Railways network to Armenia through Azerbaijan has acquired a regular character, with plans underway to further develop this route, said Sergey Pavlov, First Deputy Managing Director of Russian Railways.

According to Azerbaijan State News Agency, following the lifting of restrictions on cargo transit to Armenia through Azerbaijan in November 2025, the first grain train in many years successfully traveled from Russia to Armenia.

Previously, a batch of Russian wheat, consisting of 15 grain wagons, was dispatched to Armenia via Azerbaijan in November 2025, marking the first such delivery since 1990. The Russian Ministry of Transport has indicated that shipments of other types of cargo will also be explored via this route.
