Yekaterinburg: Russia’s Commissioner for Human Rights, Tatyana Moskalkova, has filed a formal request with the Prosecutor General’s Office concerning recent incidents in Yekaterinburg where Azerbaijani nationals were attacked.
According to Azeri-Press News Agency, Moskalkova emphasized the need to verify the legality and validity of the detentions associated with the incident. She also highlighted the importance of ensuring that the rights of both the suspects and the victims are upheld throughout the investigation process.
Moskalkova’s actions come after communication with her Azerbaijani counterpart, Sabina Aliyeva, who had previously reached out regarding the attacks. Aliyeva’s official appeal to the Russian Ombudsman underscores the ongoing concern over the treatment of Azerbaijani nationals in Yekaterinburg.
