Russia’s Influence in Georgia Dismissed by Prime Minister

Tbilisi: Georgia’s Prime Minister, Irakli Kobakhidze, has asserted that Russia holds no sway in the country’s political landscape, media, or election processes. In a recent interview with Euronews, Kobakhidze emphasized the lack of Russian influence in Georgia, underscoring the nation’s political independence.

According to Azeri-Press News Agency, Kobakhidze stated, “There are no political parties where they would enjoy their influence. There is no influence from media channels with their influence. So that’s why the Russian side cannot influence the elections in Georgia, essentially.” His remarks aim to dispel concerns about external interference in Georgia’s democratic processes, highlighting the government’s efforts to maintain sovereignty in its internal affairs.
