Baku: Speaker of Azerbaijan's Milli Majlis Sahiba Gafarova met with Speaker of the Islamic Consultative Assembly of Iran Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf during the 20th Session of the Conference of the Parliamentary Union of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) held in Baku, as reported by the Press and Public Relations Department of the Milli Majlis to APA. Welcoming Ghalibaf, Gafarova expressed satisfaction with their previous meetings and emphasized the conference's importance for fostering both multilateral and bilateral relations. She expressed confidence that the visit would strengthen interparliamentary ties.

According to Azeri-Press News Agency, satisfaction was expressed regarding the current state of relations between Azerbaijan and Iran. Gafarova voiced optimism about ongoing projects and potential new areas of collaboration between the two nations. Discussions also touched on regional developments, with Gafarova expressing hope that negotiations would help reduce tensions and promote peace. She highlighted Azerbaijan's humanitarian aid to Iran and President Ilham Aliyev's visit to the Iranian Embassy to offer condolences.
