Saudi Crown Prince and US Secretary of State Discuss Efforts to End Conflicts in Gaza and Lebanon

RIYADH: Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman and US Secretary of State Antony Blinken held discussions on Wednesday focusing on the military conflicts in Gaza and Lebanon, reviewing bilateral ties, and exploring ways to end the ongoing hostilities, APA reports citing Al Arabiya.

According to Azeri-Press news agency, the meeting between the two leaders centered on “regional and international developments of common interest,” with particular emphasis on the pressing situations in Gaza and Lebanon. The discussions also covered efforts to halt military operations and address the security and humanitarian repercussions stemming from the conflicts, as reported by the Saudi Press Agency (SPA).

Secretary Blinken’s visit to Riyadh follows heightened regional tensions, arriving from Tel Aviv earlier that day. His engagements included a meeting with Saudi Foreign Minister Prince Faisal bin Farhan, where the focus was on addressing the crises in Gaza and Lebanon. The Saudi foreign ministry released a statement noting
that the discussions also involved a review of the bilateral relations between Saudi Arabia and the United States.

This visit marks Blinken’s 11th trip to the region since the war in Gaza began and his first since the escalation of violence between Israel and Hezbollah into a full-scale conflict late last month.
