Baku: Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev's commendation of Uzbekistan's reforms under President Shavkat Mirziyoyev underscores a significant trend - international recognition of these reforms' success. The Azerbaijani President's state visit reaffirmed the role of these reforms in modernizing the economy, enhancing infrastructure, improving the investment climate, and elevating human capital's significance, which together create new avenues for bilateral cooperation, as highlighted by Professor Obidjon Khamidov, Rector of Bukhara State University, to AZERTAC.

According to Azerbaijan State News Agency, the relationship between Uzbekistan and Azerbaijan is rapidly expanding across diverse sectors. The signing of the 'Treaty on Eternal Friendship' by both countries' leaders on August 23 has spurred the establishment of new joint ventures in banking, production of building materials, tourism, raw material processing, horticulture, and education, Professor Khamidov noted.

He further stated that President Ilham Aliyev's positive appraisal of Uzbekistan's modern development imposes a greater responsibility on the academic community. Professor Khamidov expressed confidence that the ongoing rapprochement between the two nations will foster new opportunities for universities in both countries, with science and education serving as enduring bridges connecting not only the countries but also future generations.
