Baku: The Secretary-General of the Global South NGO Platform (GSNP) has been elected, APA reports. Fuad Karimli will lead the organization for a five-year term.
According to Azeri-Press News Agency, Uzbekistan's representative Bobur Bekmurodov has been elected Deputy Secretary-General for the Asia region. Ecuador's representative Luis Gallegos will serve as Deputy Secretary-General for the Latin America region. Kenya's representative Mithika Mwenda has been appointed Deputy Secretary-General for the Africa region, and the Philippines' representative Cecile Guidote-Alvarez will take on the role of Deputy Secretary-General for the Pacific region.
Fuad Karimli, who previously worked at the GSNP Secretariat, will now lead the platform in its efforts to address the specific needs and challenges of the Global South.
