Baku: Martin Chungong, Secretary General of the Inter-Parliamentary Union (IPU), arrived in Azerbaijan on May 4. At Heydar Aliyev International Airport, the IPU Secretary General and his spouse Stella Chungong were welcomed by Galib Israfilov, Azerbaijan's Permanent Representative to the United Nations Office and other International Organizations in Geneva, along with other officials. According to Azerbaijan State News Agency, the visit marks an important engagement for strengthening relations between the IPU and Azerbaijan. The presence of Galib Israfilov and other officials at the airport underscores the significance of this visit in terms of diplomatic and international relations. The purpose of Chungong's visit and the activities planned during his stay in Azerbaijan are yet to be disclosed.
