Seismological Center: Volcanic Eruption Recorded in Three Phases

Baku: The Republican Seismological Service Center (RSSC) under the Azerbaijan National Academy of Sciences (ANAS) has released information today regarding an eruption at the Otman Bozdag mud volcano located in the Garadagh district, RSSC told APA. The eruption, recorded in three phases, began at 08:27 local time with the first phase lasting 10 minutes until 08:37. The second phase began at 08:39 and lasted 12 minutes until 08:51. The third phase started at 09:02 and lasted 4 minutes until 09:06. The eruption occurred at a depth of 4 kilometers, with a total energy release of 2.19*10^7 joules.

According to Azeri-Press News Agency, the volcanic eruption was recorded by seismic stations installed around mud volcanoes by the RSSC under ANAS.
