Washington: Senator Steve Daines, a member of the US Senate Foreign Relations Committee, highlighted the significance of the meeting between President Ilham Aliyev of Azerbaijan and Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan at the White House last August. During a hearing with Secretary of State Marco Rubio, Daines described the event as a breakthrough, noting that it resulted in the signing of a peace agreement between the two nations.
According to Azerbaijan State News Agency, Senator Daines emphasized that the story of this diplomatic achievement has not received the attention it deserves. He stated, "I think we need to get the story out. This is a critical geopolitical problem that has been definitely remedied by the leadership." His remarks underscored the importance of recognizing the progress made in resolving longstanding tensions between Azerbaijan and Armenia.
