“This year is a very significant year for Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS), said Sergey Lebedev, Chairman of the CIS Executive Committee, APA’s Moscow correspondent reports.

According to him, from the first days of the CIS, Azerbaijan has played both an active and very important constructive role in the union.

“Today’s meeting showed that Azerbaijan approaches positively about most of the documents submitted to the CIS Economic Council and the implementation of projects. I want to note Azerbaijan’s economic cooperation within the CIS. Azerbaijan is a member of CIS Economic Council. Azerbaijani side actively participates at the meeting of Economic Council. I am sure that we will have many cultural and humanitarian events together with Azerbaijan.”
