Moscow: Shahin Shikhlinski, head of the Azerbaijani diaspora in Russia’s Sverdlovsk region, will remain in a pre-trial detention center. His lawyer’s appeal against his detention has been rejected by the Moscow City Court.
According to Azeri-Press News Agency, Shikhlinski had earlier been placed on the federal wanted list by the Russian Ministry of Internal Affairs. He was detained on August 2, and despite efforts by his legal team, the court decided to uphold his detention status, leaving him in the pre-trial facility.
