Shavkat Mirziyoyev Calls for ‘Two Countries – One Championship’ Program

Baku: A 'Two Countries - One Championship' program should be developed, President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev said at the third meeting of the Supreme Interstate Council of the Republic of Azerbaijan and the Republic of Uzbekistan, APA's special correspondent reports.

According to Azeri-Press News Agency, President Mirziyoyev emphasized the importance of collaboration between Uzbekistan and Azerbaijan as they prepare for the upcoming FIFA youth World Cup next year. He proposed the creation of a large-scale program aimed at uniting sporting, cultural, and youth events prior to the tournament. This initiative aims to strengthen ties and foster cooperation between the two nations through shared activities.

President Mirziyoyev also suggested the establishment of the Uzbekistan-Azerbaijan Games. Within this framework, the youth from both countries could participate not only in sports but also engage in intellectual competitions. This initiative is seen as a way to further enhance bilateral relations and provide a platform for young talents to showcase their skills in various arenas.
