Baku: Sheikh-ul-Islam of Caucasus Allahshukur Pashazadeh received the newly appointed Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Islamic Republic of Iran to Baku, Mujtaba Demirchilu.
According to Azeri-Press News Agency, the meeting highlighted the importance of strengthening historical and traditional relations between Azerbaijan and Iran across various areas, including religious and spiritual levels.
The discussion also touched upon the ongoing reconstruction efforts in Karabakh, an area recently liberated from occupation. Allahshukur Pashazadeh emphasized the significance of these efforts in reviving Azerbaijan’s religious and spiritual heritage, which had been affected by vandalism. He described these activities as having pan-Islamic importance and encouraged the ambassador to visit the region.
The Iranian ambassador acknowledged Sheikhulislam A. Pashazadeh’s role as a pivotal figure for Azerbaijan and the broader region. He recognized Pashazadeh’s influential leadership on both global and international stages and expressed appreciation for the warm reception. Additionally, the ambassador extended an invitation to the Chairman of the CMO for an upcoming international conference in the Islamic Republic of Iran.
