Baku: Six new express bus routes are set to commence operations tomorrow due to repair works in the Baku Metro. As part of a line separation initiative by Baku Metro CJSC, train services between the 28 May and Nizami stations will be halted temporarily starting August 15.
According to Azeri-Press News Agency, AYNA has organized these express routes to begin functioning from August 14. The new routes are designed to ease commuter movement during the metro service suspension. The express routes include M1, running between the Elmlar Akademiyasi and 28 May metro stations, and M2, connecting Inshaatchilar, Nizami, and 28 May metro stations. Route M3 will serve passengers traveling between the 20 January, Nizami, and 28 May stations, while M4 connects the 20 January and Koroglu stations. Routes M5 and M6 will run between the 20 January and Ganjlik stations, and the Elmlar Akademiyasi and Ganjlik stations, respectively.
To accommodate the increased demand, the number of buses on 20 regular routes, including Nos. 2, 6, 7A, 9, and 10, will be augmented. Furthermore, terminal stops for regular routes Nos. 32, 49, 120E, and 125 have been moved to the vicinity of Samad Vurgun Garden. Specifically, routes Nos. 32 and 49 now terminate on Dilara Aliyeva Street, while routes Nos. 120E and 125 end on Pushkin Street. Passengers can find more information on the new express bus stops via an online video.
