ISTANBUL—There has been a slight decrease in the volume of oil transported through Turkey via the Baku-Tbilisi-Ceyhan (BTC) pipeline in the first seven months of 2024, according to a report by APA-Economics citing Turkey’s BOTAS company.
According to Azeri-Press News Agency, 130,685 thousand barrels of oil passed through Turkey via the BTC pipeline from January to July 2024, marking a 2.04% decrease from the previous year’s figures during the same period, where 133,409 thousand barrels were transported. The BTC pipeline, a major conduit for Azerbaijani crude from the Azeri-Chirag-Guneshli fields, also carries oil from other producers. Last year, a total of 228,811 thousand barrels were transported, indicating a 1.5% increase over 2022.
