Baku: SOCAR President Rovshan Najaf and Karoly Matrai, CEO of MVM Group, have signed a new agreement on natural gas supply. The meeting between the leaders of the two energy companies took place on 10 December 2025, as reported by SOCAR to APA-Economics.
According to Azeri-Press news agency, the discussions during the meeting centered on cooperation in various segments of the energy sector. Both parties explored ongoing projects and future opportunities for partnership, focusing on expanding collaboration in gas supply, infrastructure projects, sustainable energy solutions, and regional partnership initiatives.
The newly signed agreement, effective from 1 January 2026, aims to enhance the strategic energy partnership between Azerbaijan and Hungary. This agreement builds on the companies’ previous contract, reflecting a commitment to long-term energy cooperation and regional energy security. Over the years, SOCAR and MVM ONEnergy have maintained a successful and reliable relationship, which this new agreement seeks to extend further.
