SOCAR Announces Expansion of Azerbaijani Gas Exports to More Countries

Baku: New steps are being taken to expand the geography of Azerbaijani gas exports, said SOCAR Vice President Vitaliy Baylarbayov during the session titled 'Gas Markets: Infrastructure, Strategy and Geopolitics' at the Baku Energy Forum.

According to Azeri-Press News Agency, Baylarbayov revealed that Azerbaijan currently exports natural gas to 16 countries, and this number is expected to increase soon. He mentioned that in addition to a new agreement signed in Baku this year, further contracts are anticipated, leading to an expanded export geography.

Currently, Azerbaijan exports oil to over 37 countries, conducts LNG trading operations, and plans to start exporting electricity by the end of 2025. Baylarbayov emphasized that diversification of energy sources, routes, and markets is a crucial component of energy security.
