Baku: SOCAR has launched preparatory seabed survey activities in the Qoshadash area of Absheron as an initial step to facilitate the upcoming 3D Ocean Bottom Node (OBN) seismic field operations.

According to Azerbaijan State News Agency, conducting the seabed survey beforehand is crucial for ensuring optimal node deployment and operational efficiency during the forthcoming acquisition campaign. The survey's findings will aid in the successful execution of the seismic program.

The survey employs advanced multibeam and sonar technologies to accurately map seabed conditions and identify potential obstacles. This approach is crucial for the safe and optimal placement of ocean bottom nodes.

The Geophysics and Geology Department (GGD) of SOCAR, in collaboration with SOCAR Fugro, is executing the survey work. Completing this work ahead of time will support efficient acquisition operations and help ensure the highest quality seismic data.
