Baku: Revitalizing mature fields is one of the main priorities of SOCAR’s daily operations, said SOCAR’s Reservoir Development Manager, Murad Seyidov, during his speech at the SPE Caspian Technical Conference, APA-Economics reports.

According to Azeri-Press News Agency, Seyidov highlighted several challenges associated with mature fields, some of which have been operational for over a century. These challenges encompass not only the depletion of underground reserves but also the aging of applied practices, knowledge, infrastructure, old wells, and pipelines.

Seyidov further emphasized the significance of mature fields in the global oil industry, noting that more than 70% of oil production worldwide is sourced from these fields, and this figure continues to rise.
