SOCAR Set to Acquire Full Stake in Gama Energy Central Anatolia Power Plant in Trkiye

Baku: SOCAR plans to acquire a 100% stake in the Gama Energy Central Anatolia power plant in Trkiye, Prime Minister Ali Asadov announced during the 12th meeting of the Joint Intergovernmental Commission on Economic Cooperation between Azerbaijan and Trkiye.

According to Azeri-Press News Agency, Asadov highlighted that SOCAR, a major player in Azerbaijan's energy sector, is broadening its operations in Trkiye. This expansion includes Petkim's plans to construct and modernize various factories. Additionally, SOCAR intends to purchase the entire stake in the 870 MW Gama Energy Central Anatolia power plant for $225 million. The acquisition agreement is scheduled to be signed at the 2nd Azerbaijan-Trkiye Investment Forum tomorrow.
