Baku: The State Oil Fund of the Republic of Azerbaijan (SOFAZ) organized an event titled 'Azerbaijan-Italy Business and Investment Bridge' to coincide with the visit of Fondo Strategico Italiano (FSI), a prominent Italian private equity management company and a longstanding partner of SOFAZ. This event saw the participation of various Italian companies exploring potential collaboration opportunities within the Azerbaijani market.
According to Azerbaijan State News Agency, the event was held at SOFAZ's administrative building and aimed to bolster the strategic investment partnership between Azerbaijan and Italy. It focused on fostering direct business connections in mutually beneficial areas and establishing a sustainable platform for long-term economic cooperation.
The gathering included senior representatives from numerous state institutions and high-level executives from the private sector, coordinated by the Azerbaijan Export and Investment Promotion Agency (AZPROMO). Opening remarks were given by Israfil Mammadov, CEO of SOFAZ; Anar Akhundov, Deputy Minister of Economy of Azerbaijan; and Luca Di Gianfrancesco, Ambassador of Italy to Azerbaijan.
Yusif Abdullayev, Executive Director of AZPROMO, and Maurizio Tamagnini, CEO of FSI, presented on priority areas for bilateral investment and highlighted emerging opportunities across key sectors. Discussions centered on the current state and future prospects of Azerbaijan-Italy economic relations, investment opportunities, Azerbaijan's favorable business environment, and ways to expand institutional collaboration.
The event concluded with interactive discussions, assessments of sector-specific cooperation opportunities, and bilateral meetings aimed at fostering concrete partnerships.
