Sahiba Gafarova, Speaker of the Azerbaijani Parliament met with Turkish delegation led by Mahmut Özer, Chairman of the National Education, Culture, Youth and Sports Commission of the Grand National Assembly of Trkiye.
During the meeting, the sides hailed the relations between the two fraternal countries, which have reached the highest level. The two highlighted the exceptional role of the high-level mutual visits in cultivating bilateral relations and stressed the importance of such visits by the leaders of both countries.
The pair also welcomed the successful development of friendly and fraternal relations between Azerbaijan and Trkiye across all domains.
They emphasized the critical role of Presidents Ilham Aliyev and Recep Tayyip Erdogan in deepening these relations, noting that the fraternal ties and political determination of the two leaders, based on mutual respect and trust, have elevated the relationship to the level of an alliance.
Quoting President Ilham Aliyev as saying: “Our family is the Tur
kic world”, Speaker Sahiba Gafarova highlighted the exceptional contributions of the two countries in developing relations between the Turkic states.
They also emphasized the role of parliaments in enhancing Azerbaijan-Trkiye relations and noted the close cooperation between their legislative bodies. They mentioned that Azerbaijan’s Milli Majlis and the GNAT successfully cooperate in tripartite and multilateral formats, as well as in various international organizations, supporting each other’s positions.
Highlighting the signing of agreement on cooperation between the Azerbaijani Milli Majlis and the Grand National Assembly of Trkiye, Sahiba Gafarova emphasized that the document would contribute to further solidifying relations between the parliaments in many domains.
The two also mentioned the extensive relations between the fraternal countries in educational realm, emphasizing the essential role of education in protecting the family values.
During the meeting, the parties lauded the establishment of Trk
iye-Azerbaijan University, describing it as a manifestation of brotherhood between the two countries.
Chairman of the Science and Education Committee of Azerbaijan`s Milli Majlis, Bakhtiyar Aliyev, as well as GNAT members including Nazim Mavis, Mehmet Emin Öz, Nurten Yontar, Senol Sunat, Turkish Ambassador to Azerbaijan Cahid Bagçi, and other officials were also present at the meeting.
