Cape town: “Solidarity, Equality and Sustainability” are among the principles Azerbaijan also shares, stated Speaker of Azerbaijan’s Milli Majlis, Sahiba Gafarova, at the opening ceremony of the 11th G20 Parliamentary Speakers’ Summit (P20) in Cape Town, South Africa. During her address, she emphasized Azerbaijan’s commitment to these core values.

According to Azerbaijan State News Agency, Speaker Sahiba Gafarova recalled a recent statement by Azerbaijan’s President, Ilham Aliyev, which outlined the country’s vision for peace and development. This vision is grounded in international law, mutual respect, cooperation, and non-interference in the internal affairs of other nations.

Gafarova highlighted Azerbaijan’s adherence to this vision during the liberation of its territories from thirty years of Armenian occupation, achieved by implementing international law principles. She also noted the continuation of this commitment through the peace process with Armenia, culminating in the initialing of a peace agreement in Washington in August of this year.
