Speaker Sahiba Gafarova Meets with Indonesian Ambassador to Discuss Bilateral Cooperation

Baku: Sahiba Gafarova, Speaker of the Milli Majlis, held a meeting with Berlian Helmy, the Indonesian Ambassador to Azerbaijan. During this meeting, both parties expressed satisfaction with the progress in relations between Azerbaijan and Indonesia, emphasizing the potential for enhanced cooperation in political, economic, investment, and other areas.

According to Azerbaijan State News Agency, the meeting highlighted the positive interactions and mutual support shared by the two nations within international organizations, including the United Nations, the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC), and the Non-Aligned Movement. Speaker Gafarova noted Indonesia's active participation in the Non-Aligned Movement Parliamentary Network, which was initiated by Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev.

The discussion also included the future development of parliamentary relations between the two countries. Both sides acknowledged the importance of friendship groups within their parliaments, as well as the impact of reciprocal visits and ongoing communication between members of parliament in fostering stronger bilateral ties. Ambassador Helmy emphasized the significance of parliamentary collaboration in bolstering relations and expressed his commitment to enhancing cooperation between Azerbaijan and Indonesia's legislative bodies during his tenure.
