Baku: The third trilateral meeting of the speakers of the parliaments of Azerbaijan, Pakistan, and Trkiye concluded with the adoption of the Islamabad Declaration, marking a significant step towards enhanced cooperation among the three nations.

According to Azeri-Press News Agency, the Speaker of the National Assembly of Pakistan, Sardar Ayaz Sadiq, highlighted the meeting as a valuable platform for discussions on pressing issues among the three countries. He emphasized the forum’s role in strengthening parliamentary relations between Azerbaijan, Pakistan, and Trkiye.

Speaker of the Milli Majlis, Sahiba Gafarova, noted that the meeting reviewed regional and international developments and bilateral and trilateral relations. She stated that ties among Azerbaijan, Trkiye, and Pakistan are characterized by mutual support, unity, and solidarity, and are continuously growing stronger.

Gafarova also mentioned that, due to the determination of the heads of state – President Ilham Aliyev, President Recep Tayyip Erdogan, and Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif – the relations among the three countries have reached the level of a trilateral strategic partnership. This follows the summit in Lachin in May.

The Speaker of the Milli Majlis discussed the current state and future prospects of trilateral parliamentary cooperation. She stressed that the Islamabad Declaration reflects all aspects of the fraternal relations among the three countries, highlights the importance of joint parliamentary activities, and outlines new opportunities for expanding cooperation.

Speaker of the Grand National Assembly of Trkiye, Numan Kurtulmus, emphasized the importance of parliamentary diplomacy in deepening relations among the three nations. He noted that the third trilateral meeting was a success and its outcomes would contribute significantly to future cooperation.
