Special Forces Celebrate 27th Anniversary with Commemorative Events

Baku: A series of commemorative events were organized to celebrate the 27th anniversary of the establishment of the Special Forces, as reported by the Ministry of Defense to APA. The leadership of the Special Forces, along with a group of servicemen, began the celebrations by visiting the bust of National Leader Heydar Aliyev and a Memorial complex dedicated to Shehids, laying flowers, and paying tribute to their memory.

According to Azeri-Press News Agency, the events were attended by representatives from the Ministry of Defense, the Military Prosecutor's Office of the Republic, and various Special Forces officers, warrant officers, as well as reserve and retired servicemen. The attendees honored the memory of National Leader Heydar Aliyev and the Shehids with a minute of silence, followed by the performance of the State Anthem of the Republic of Azerbaijan.

Congratulatory messages from the leadership of the Ministry of Defense of the Republic of Azerbaijan were conveyed to the participants. Speeches delivered during the event reflected on the history of the Special Forces, which were established under the instructions of the National Leader, and highlighted the heroism of military personnel in liberating occupied territories.

The importance that the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Supreme Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces, Mr. Ilham Aliyev, places on the Special Forces was emphasized. The heroism displayed by Special Forces personnel during the 44-day Patriotic War and other operations was also recognized. Veterans of the Special Forces expressed their readiness to carry out any order from the Supreme Commander-in-Chief and their commitment to serving the Motherland with honor.

A video dedicated to the Special Forces was shown as part of the celebrations. Additionally, servicemen visited the graves of Shehids and their families, addressing their concerns and needs. Families and relatives of the martyrs expressed gratitude to the President, First Vice-President Mehriban Aliyeva, and the Ministry of Defense for their continued attention and care.

The event concluded with a group of distinguished servicemen receiving awards for their exceptional service. A tree-planting campaign was also organized to mark the 27th anniversary of the establishment of the Special Forces.
