Special Representative Announces Progress on Zangazur Corridor Project

Baku: The implementation of the Zangazur Corridor is ongoing, according to Azerbaijan's Special Representative of the President for Jabrayil, Gubadli, and Zangilan districts, Vahid Hajiyev. He made this announcement during the event titled 'From Urbicide to Revival: Sustainable Reconstruction, Resettlement and Development in Azerbaijan's Liberated Territories' which was part of WUF13.

According to Azeri-Press News Agency, Vahid Hajiyev emphasized the strategic importance of the Zangazur Corridor, stating that it will facilitate the formation of a circular railway network in the region. This development is expected to enhance Azerbaijan's cargo transportation capacity by approximately 50 million tons.

Hajiyev further detailed the progress on the infrastructure, noting that the construction of a section of the highway is nearing completion. He also highlighted that the railway line construction is on the verge of completion, signaling significant progress in the project.

Additionally, Hajiyev pointed out the significance of the road bridge over the Araz River, which connects Zangilan with Iran. This bridge is set to become a crucial component of regional transport and logistics integration, further emphasizing the project's potential impact on regional connectivity and economic development.
