Baku:Emin Huseynov, the Special Representative of the President of Azerbaijan in the Aghdam, Fuzuli, and Khojavend districts, highlighted the need for unique restoration approaches for cultural heritage sites in the liberated territories. Speaking at the 7th World Forum on Intercultural Dialogue, Huseynov emphasized the importance of using different methods during the restoration process.
According to Azeri-Press news agency, Azerbaijan has proposed a seven-stage approach to cultural heritage restoration. This approach, previously introduced at other forums, is now seeing practical discussions and implementations in the liberated areas. Huseynov noted that several cultural and historical monuments have already been restored using these special methods, which may serve as models for other countries.
Huseynov's presentation at the forum included examples of restored cultural heritage in the districts of Aghdam, Fuzuli, and Khojavend. Notable restorations mentioned were the Imarat Complex of Panah Ali Khan, the Juma Mosque in Aghdam city, Tugh village with reserve status, and the Azykh and Taghlar caves.
The Special Representative elaborated on various restoration techniques, such as conservation, restoration to original conditions, and the integration of new elements while preserving key features. Each cultural site undergoes a separate analysis to determine the best approach for its restoration.
Additionally, Huseynov underscored the significance of cultural heritage restoration in conjunction with the Great Return process, which aims to underscore the social and cultural aspects of resettling people in their ancestral lands.
