Baku: Sudanese Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, Muhi Al-Din Salem Ahmed, engaged in a phone conversation with Azerbaijan's Foreign Minister, Jeyhun Bayramov, addressing recent drone attacks impacting the region.
According to Azerbaijan State News Agency, Minister Bayramov informed his Sudanese counterpart that on March 5, drone strikes were launched from the Islamic Republic of Iran against the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic of Azerbaijan. These attacks resulted in damage to both civilian infrastructure and individuals, challenging Azerbaijan's sovereignty and territorial integrity.
Minister Bayramov emphasized Azerbaijan's demand for an explanation and apology from Iran, urging the implementation of urgent measures to prevent future occurrences. In response, the Sudanese Minister condemned the attacks, highlighting that targeting civilian infrastructure is unacceptable.
The conversation also extended to discussions on cooperation between Sudan and Azerbaijan, underscoring the importance of maintaining diplomatic ties amidst regional challenges.
