Baku: Sultan of Brunei Darussalam Haji Hassanal Bolkiah has sent a congratulatory letter to President Ilham Aliyev on the occasion of Azerbaijan's Independence Day, APA reports. The letter expressed warm wishes and highlighted the longstanding relations between the two nations.

According to Azeri-Press News Agency, the Sultan emphasized the more than thirty years of warm and friendly relations between Brunei Darussalam and Azerbaijan. He expressed his hopes for further enhancement of these ties, both bilaterally and on international platforms, including the United Nations, the Organisation of Islamic Cooperation, and the Non-Aligned Movement.

In his letter, the Sultan conveyed wishes for continued good health and happiness for President Aliyev and progress and prosperity for the people of Azerbaijan.
