Baku: Summer has officially begun in Azerbaijan, APA reports. The summer season entered Azerbaijan on June 21 at 12:24:26 p.m. Baku time.

According to Azeri-Press News Agency, the Department of Astrophysics of the Faculty of Physics at Baku State University has confirmed that summer begins in the Northern Hemisphere and winter begins in the Southern Hemisphere from this moment. During this event, the smallest angle is formed between the Earth's axis of rotation and the direction of the Sun, resulting in the Sun reaching its highest point in the sky for the year.

In Baku, the Sun reaches its maximum altitude above the horizon today at noon, standing at 73.1°. Today marks the day with the longest daylight and the shortest night of the year. The length of daylight is recorded at 15 hours, 3 minutes, and 24 seconds, while the length of the night is 8 hours, 56 minutes, and 36 seconds.

The summer season is set to last 93 days, 15 hours, 40 minutes, and 42 seconds.
