Surge in Outbound Tourism from Uzbekistan in First Seven Months of 2024


TASHKENT – Uzbekistan experienced a significant rise in the number of outbound tourists, with 3.4 million citizens traveling abroad from January to July 2024, Trend reports. This represents a 35.7 percent increase, or 890,500 additional travelers, compared to the same period last year.



According to Trend News Agency, Kyrgyzstan was the top destination, attracting 1.6 million Uzbek travelers. Tajikistan followed with 676,400 visitors, while Kazakhstan welcomed 526,400. Other notable destinations included Russia with 159,700 travelers, Turkey with 123,000, and Saudi Arabia with 106,500. The UAE, Egypt, Kuwait, and South Korea also saw varying numbers of Uzbek tourists.



In contrast, Uzbekistan attracted 4.2 million foreign visitors during the same period, marking a 15.3 percent increase. Kyrgyzstan sent the largest number of visitors, accounting for 1.2 million.
