Baku: Sweden and Azerbaijan engaged in bilateral political consultations this week in Baku, focusing on key regional issues. Tobias Thyberg, Head of the Eastern Europe and Central Asia Department at the Swedish Ministry for Foreign Affairs, met with several Azerbaijani officials, including Mammad Talibov and Deputy Foreign Minister Fariz Rzayev.
According to Azeri-Press News Agency, Thyberg also held discussions with the Assistant to the President, Mr. Hikmet Hajiyev, and the Representative of the President on Special Assignments, Mr. Elchin Amirbayov. The meetings addressed bilateral relations, the peace and normalization process with Armenia, and other regional developments of shared interest.
Throughout his visit, Thyberg engaged with representatives from think tanks, civil society, and the Swedish business community, facilitating exchanges on various topics. This initiative underscores the commitment of both nations to foster diplomatic relations and cooperation.
