Baku: Sweden has temporarily relocated its embassy in Iran to Baku, Swedish Foreign Minister Maria Malmer Stenergard announced on her social media account, APA reports.
According to Azeri-Press News Agency, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs decided to relocate the embassy staff from Tehran due to the deteriorating security situation in Iran. It was noted that the embassy continues its activities in Baku.
The minister also recalled that the Swedish Ministry of Foreign Affairs has advised its citizens not to travel to Iran since 2022 and called on Swedish citizens to leave Iran.
