Tashkent: A special screening of the “Taghiyev: Oil” film was arranged at the famous “Panoramafilm” cinema in Tashkent, Uzbekistan. The event drew attention due to the presence of the Ministers of Culture from Azerbaijan, Uzbekistan, Kyrgyzstan, and Turkmenistan, along with heads of film agencies from these countries and representatives of the public.

According to Azerbaijan State News Agency, the audience was informed that the film was produced by the Baku Media Center with support from the Heydar Aliyev Foundation, the Ministry of Culture, and the Cinema Agency. “Taghiyev: Oil” is the first installment of a multi-part series titled “Taghiyev,” dedicated to the life of the millionaire and philanthropist. The film also highlights significant historical events in Baku and other regions of Azerbaijan during the late 19th and early 20th centuries.

The film’s main producer is Arzu Aliyeva, with Orman Aliyev as the producer. The film was directed by Zaur Gasimli, and the screenwriting team included Ismayil Iman, Asif Isgandarli, and Zaur Gasimli. Vladimir Artemyev served as the cinematographer, Sabuhi Atababayev as the production designer, Vusal Rahim as the costume designer, and Etibar Asadli as the composer.

The cast featured People’s Artists Parviz Mammadrzayev, who portrayed Taghiyev, and Gurban Ismayilov, alongside Honored Artists Rasim Jafar, Elshan Rustamov, and Natavan Hajiyeva, who brought historical figures to life on screen.

It was noted that “Taghiyev” films lead cinema ratings and have won numerous awards. Negotiations are currently underway for their international distribution, including in Central Asian countries. Following the ceremony, the film was screened, meeting enthusiastic interest and loud applause from the audience.
