Baku: The deadline for the international tender concerning the construction of new four-lane highways connecting Georgia with Azerbaijan and Armenia has been extended by 10 days. The Roads Department of Georgia's Ministry of Infrastructure has confirmed the extension, allowing more time for the submission of bids.

According to Azeri-Press News Agency, the tender, initially announced on July 7, was originally scheduled to conclude on August 14. However, the deadline has now been pushed to August 24, providing additional time for interested parties to prepare their proposals. The project, which carries a total value of 250 million euros, will be financed through a loan from the European Investment Bank.

The planned highways, spanning a total length of 61.3 kilometers, are set to commence in the city of Rustavi and will extend towards the Red Bridge and Sadakhlo. This infrastructure development aims to enhance regional connectivity and support economic growth by improving transportation links between Georgia, Azerbaijan, and Armenia.
