“The depth and magnitude of the earthquake in Shamakhi, 20 km south of Pirgulu, covered large areas. It was felt even in high-rise buildings in Baku,” director of the Republican Seismological Service Center Gurban Yetirmishli told APA.
According to him, tremors continue, some of which were recorded: “There must be small tremors so that the energy discharge goes and reaches the background level. I do not believe there will be a stronger earthquake, because 5.1, 4.1, then 2.5 and 2 magnitude earthquakes have provided some energy release. That is, I do not believe there will be catastrophic tremors.”
Note that, on November 20, two earthquakes were registered in the country.
The magnitude of the quakes was 3-5.
