The growing interest in national parks is related to the measures implemented to promote ecotourism

Azerbaijan’s national parks have become more popular in recent years, and visiting them has become a tradition. During the 7 months of 2022, 147,359 tourists visited the national parks. Although most of the arrivals were local tourists, there were also a large number of foreigners among the visitors. Arzu Babayeva, an official of the Biological Diversity Protection Service, said this.

He noted that our national parks that receive the most tourists are Goygol, Shahdag, Hirkan, Absheron and Aggol.

According to the official of the service, the observed increase in the number of tourists is the result of the continuous educational work carried out in the direction of the establishment of human-nature unity, the glorification of our nature in photos and videos on social networks, and the activities carried out together with partners in the direction of promoting ecotourism.

“We can emphasize today that all of our national parks are invaluable natural gems, and tourists willingly visit these beauties to enjoy the fascinating scenery and come into direct contact with wild nature, which ensures the rapid development of the number of ecotourists.”
