The International Court of Justice allowed a claim of Azerbaijan against Armenia

Azerbaijan filed a lawsuit against Armenia to the UN International Court of Justice to hold this country accountable for systematic violations of the “International Convention on the Elimination of All Forms of Racial Discrimination”. This is stated on the website of the International Court of Justice.

The lawsuit states that Armenia participated and goes ahead with discriminatory actions against Azerbaijanis on the basis of their national or ethnic origin.

Note that “Armenia’s policy and behavior towards ethnic cleansing, incitement of hatred towards Azerbaijanis are systematic to violate the relevant UN convention,” the lawsuit says.

Armenia is responsible for the violation of the Convention and must compensate for damage caused to Azerbaijan and the Azerbaijani people.

Also, the claim calls for the introduction of temporary interim measures against Armenia before the International Court of Justice issues its decision on this claim.
