The head of the 4th department of the Binagadi district police department of Baku, lieutenant-colonel Rahib Mirzoev, shot himself on July 9 at his workplace. This message was confirmed by the press service of the Prosecutor General’s Office.

“Rahib Mirzoev committed suicide today at 11.00 in the recreation room with a single shot to the heart from a service weapon.

Employees of the investigative department of the Prosecutor General’s Office and the Ministry of Internal Affairs are at the scene of the incident.

Detailed information will be provided to the public in the nearest future,” the Prosecutor’s Office stated.

It has to be reminded that Rahib Mirzoev was appointed a head of the 4th department in 2019. He is a brother of police major-general Sahib Mirzoev who previously headed the internal investigation department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, now retired.
