The regional centers of the Ombudsman organized events on the occasion of November 12 – Constitution Day

The regional centers of the Ombudsman held events dedicated to November 12 – the Constitution Day of the Republic of Azerbaijan.

The Ombudsman’s Office told AZERTAC that the institution’s Ganja Regional Center held an online event on “Constitutional guarantee of children’s rights” on the occasion of Constitution Day. The event, organized jointly with the Gazakh District Department of the Youth Development and Career Center, was attended by young people and schoolchildren.

The head of the Ganja Regional Center Sabuhi Abbasov noted that after the adoption of the first Constitution of the independent Republic of Azerbaijan in 1995, large-scale democratic and legal reforms began in our country.

It was noted at the event held as part of the “Children’s Rights Month” that the Azerbaijani ombudsman attaches great importance to cooperation with government agencies, international organizations, as well as local non-governmental organizations to protect the rights and legitimate interests of children. During his speech, S.Abbasov gave detailed information about the provisions and constitutional guarantees related to children’s rights in the Constitution of the Republic of Azerbaijan.

The Jalilabad Regional Center of the Ombudsman organized a joint event with the Youth and Sports Department and the Vocational Education Center in connection with the Constitution Day. The event was attended by employees of the regional center, representatives of these organizations, as well as teachers and students.

The head of the Jalilabad Regional Center Ziya Ismayilov spoke at the event about the socio-legal essence of the constitution in general, the date and provisions of the adoption of the first Constitution of independent Azerbaijan. The Decree on Measures to Ensure Human and Civil Rights and Freedoms and the State Program on Protection of Human Rights, as well as the multifaceted activities of the Azerbaijani Ombudsman Institution in the field of protection of human rights and freedoms were also reported. questions answered.

In this regard, the Ombudsman’s Guba Regional Center held a video conference event jointly organized by the Guba branch of the State Committee for Work with Religious Organizations. The event was attended by employees of these organizations, religious figures and public figures.

Welcoming the participants on behalf of the Commissioner, Bahruz Efendiyev, Head of the Guba Regional Center, spoke about the importance of our Constitution, which celebrates its 26th anniversary today, and the rights and freedoms granted to our citizens by this supreme legislative act.

At the end, the questions of the participants were answered and the topic was discussed.
