The United States, through USAID (the American Agency for International Development), allocated funds woth $1 million to the Azerbaijani government to fight the COVID-19 pandemic.

This was stated by the US Ambassador to Azerbaijan, Lee Lietzenberg during the commissioning ceremony of three mobile clinics in the city of Shamakha.

Besides, additional assistance was provided to Azerbaijan by the WHO and the International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies.

The United States remains committed to providing consistent assistance to Azerbaijan in a difficult period. “By working together can we defeat COVID-19,” the Ambassador stated.
